Who we are

carbsperhour.com is operated by Thomas Neumann (full postal address on the Impressum page). The site is a free, informational fueling calculator. There are no accounts, no payments, and no commercial transactions in v1.

What we collect

  • Session cookie (PHPSESSID). Strictly necessary. Expires when you close your browser. The session exists solely to hold a CSRF token that prevents forged form submissions (e.g. when saving a short-link plan). It is not used for tracking, advertising, or any cross-site activity.
  • Saved plans (optional). If you click "Save short link" on the calculator, your calculator inputs (duration, target g/h, ratio, ingredient selection, carriers, sodium, water) are stored in our database against a random token. No IP address, email, or other personal identifier is stored alongside the plan.
  • Server logs. Standard request logs capture IP address, User-Agent, request path and timestamp. Retention is roughly 30 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.
  • Browser localStorage. Your theme preference (cph_theme) and any gel reference price / ingredient cost overrides you edit on the calculator are stored in your browser. This data never leaves your device.

What we don't collect

No analytics. No Google services. No third-party trackers (no Plausible, no Matomo, no PostHog, no Umami, no Facebook pixel). No advertising cookies. No accounts. No email collection in v1. No payment data.

Third parties

  • Hosting: Hetzner Cloud GmbH, Gunzenhausen, Germany. Covered by a data-processing agreement (AVV) under Art. 28 GDPR.
  • Email delivery: not active in v1. When a contact form or transactional email is added, the SMTP provider will be disclosed here.

Cookies

The only cookie this site sets is PHPSESSID, which is strictly necessary per § 25 (2) TTDSG and does not require consent. No consent banner is shown because there is nothing optional to consent to.

Your rights under the GDPR

Under Articles 15–21 GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@joinmyevent.co.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for this site is the Hamburgischer Beauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (datenschutz-hamburg.de).

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.
